Produced in Yibin, Sichuan, Wuliangye is one of the representative brands of Chinese strong-aroma baijiu. Made from five grains—sorghum, rice, glutinous rice, wheat and corn—it uses solid-state fermentation in centuries-old pits dating back to the Ming dynasty, followed by traditional distillation, aging and blending. It has won multiple awards in national famous-liquor competitions and is also a common choice for important banquets and gift-giving occasions in China.
